The Theater Organ or Cinema Organ was used for silent films in the past.
It was great to watch a flashing black and white film of Laurel and Hardy or Buster Keaton and then the organ as accompaniment.
In addition to the impressive full sounds, there are also many effects such as:
Car horn, Birds, Drum instruments, Siren, Steam whistle, Horse hooves, Wind and rain.
The air bellows are controlled by air via an electromagnetic valve.
The console is located downstairs. To the eye, it looks the same as a large organ with lots of buttons, but no sound comes from this console at all.
Everything is controlled remotely using this console.
Upstairs in the hall, behind two windows that can be opened, are the organ chambers where all the instruments are located.
There are many moments when you can see, hear and feel them.
Of course there are the concerts but also organist days, open days and other events.

To be able to play louder or softer, you cannot of course blow less air into the instruments.
Then the pipe will be out of tune or the hammer will no longer be able to strike properly.
For this purpose, wooden slats have been placed in front of the large windows of the organ chambers. Or shutters.
These are controlled by the organist with his two swell pedals (left and right organ chamber).
The swell pedals or volume pedals are also known from the living room electronic organ.
Only in a theatre organ do the wooden slats open and close depending on the swell pedal being operated.
In this way, you open and close the window, as it were, to control the sound volume.
So no speakers!!
Uniflex was actually born out of necessity for us.
First, let's make one thing clear. Uniflex is only a replacement for the old control relays.
The command from the console to the organ chamber.
This used to go per key, per register stop, per effect button, per wire upstairs to the organ chamber.
In short, a thousand wires in a thick bundle to a large relay board that in turn sent it on to the solenoid valve and thus the tone from a certain instrument.
These wires and relays are so old that much is worn out and starts to falter. This is almost impossible to replace and a good solution must therefore be found.
Now the command from the key etc. goes upstairs via a network cable and there it is translated again to then go back to the solenoid valves via the old route.
This means that all the original musical instruments in the organ chamber are still and remain authentic.
Only the command has been renewed.
Many theatre organs in England and America are already controlled by this system.
We keep the theatre organ as original and authentic as possible. But if we have to choose between "unrecoverable" or "modern operating system" we will definitely choose the latter
